A lunchtime concert of scintillating piano music by England’s greatest composer, including virtuoso piano transcriptions from Pomp & Circumstance and The Dream of Gerontius as well as the improvisations that Elgar recorded direct on to hot wax in 1927.

 

David Owen Norris has recorded all Elgar’s piano music, and is the only person in the world who plays his greatest piano piece of all. His many television and radio programmes on the composer have placed him at the forefront of Elgar’s interpreters. A lunchtime of scintillating piano music from England’s greatest composer.

 

 

Join David Owen Norris for the first Lunchtime Extra, a FREE 45-minute talk exploring the music of today's concert.

 

NB. The lunchtime concert will run from 1pm - 1:50pm, allowing a break for refreshments before the Lunchtime Extra at 2:15pm.
